WELCOME MESSAGE

Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of The International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN), It's our pleasure to announce the Fourth World Breastfeeding Conference (WBC 4) organized by IBFAN Arab World (IAW). The WBC4 will take place from the 12th to 14th March 2023 in InterContinental Citystars hotel in the beautiful city of Cairo, Egypt. Despite the continuous efforts by the governments, NGO’s, and breastfeeding advocates to protect, promote and support breastfeeding, this essential & life-saving practice remains under attack from the baby feeding industry. Baby feeding companies have exploited the COVID19 pandemic, using unacceptably pervasive and predatory marketing tactics that mislead mothers and dissuate them from exclusive breastfeeding; The 4th World Breastfeeding Conference will bring together all supporting partners concerned about maternal and child health to protect mothers and families from unethical marketing practices by enacting, monitoring and enforcing laws to end all promotion of formula milk products to ensure that mothers have sufficient knowledge, competence and skills to provide their babies with the best start in life. We are looking forward to meeting you all at 4th World Breastfeeding Conference

Dr Ghada Sayed
WBC 4 President
